Su Casa Wins Big At 2024 ARDA Awards

The American Institute of Building Design (AIBD) held its annual awards ceremony on July 27, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. AIBD's premier awards program is the American Residential Design Awards (ARDAs), which recognize the best achievements in residential design. This year, Su Casa took home six awards!

The ARDAs honour achievements in 14 categories, including Custom Homes, Renovation, Outdoor Living, and Accessible Living. The judging process is conducted by a panel of experts in residential design and construction, with criteria including design innovation, quality of craftsmanship, client satisfaction, and functionality and flow. Su Casa’s founder and Chief Creative Director, Andy Friesen, was in attendance for this year’s ceremony.

“We look forward to the ARDAs all year,” comments Andy. “AIBD upholds incredible standards for our industry, and to be selected as a recipient for an award is such an honour.”

Su Casa took home six awards this year across five categories, including two awards in the Custom Homes (Built) category for their "Mount Cheam" and "Riverview" projects, and a win in the Renovation category for "Verdon Way". The fourth award was for their "Iron Horse" project, awarded in the Model Homes (Unbuilt) category, while "Fairmont Estates" won in the Design Feature category, and "Copper Canyon" for a Published Design.

“We are so excited and honoured to receive six awards! AIBD’s recognition of our work at Su Casa inspires us to continue in our pursuit of beautiful home design.”

Our Grand ARDA Awards

Highlighting Su Casa's success were two Grand ARDA distinctions, awarded to entries selected as best in their category, such as Su Casa’s exquisite "Riverview" project. This home, located in Whistler, B.C., incorporated multiple pavilions to solve the challenge of a steep hillside, whilemaximizing views of the natural environment. The home features vaulted ceilings and strategically placed windows to optimize light and sightlines within its forested location, which overlooks a glacial river.

"Verdon Way" won the second Grand ARDA. This incredible renovation project showcases Su Casa's ability to blend timeless elements with modern design, and to balance innovative interior solutions with thoughtful outdoor integration. “We love our home,” shares homeowner, Jennifer.“It’s everything we imagined, and more.”

The team at Su Casa is honoured by AIBD’s recognition of their work, and shares their success with their clients, without whom these awards would not be possible. “We absolutely love what we do; working with clients to bring their dreams to life is incredibly satisfying. Helping people to love where they live is what energizes us each and every day, and these awards really affirm what we’re all about.”
